The UI is, I believe, much of what was planned for 7.0 before the acquisition by Autonomy.
As for the rest - there's a webinar on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 (11:00a.m PT/ 1:00p.m CT/ 2:00p.m ET) which I certainly hope to attend.
(It's times like these that I really miss GearUp - it was a great way to learn about these things)

They've completely redesigned CCStd to actually have some useful portlets OOTB. I've seen it and I'm sad to say it's not as clean and sharp as it used to be from a UI perspective (looks a bit messy and overloaded), but there's a lot more OOTB functionality on it now that might appeal to organizations that were otherwise afraid of creating custom portlets and instead had authors mucking around in CCPro.

here's the $1,000,000 question - when?

We're going through a major upgrade from 6.5 to 7.2. I Don't want to wait but if it's due out in the next few weeks I'll wait.
