Is it possible (& supported) to create a new .page file via a script (Java/Perl/xyz)?

If yes, how?

A .page is just an xml file, so yes, you can create it via any language that can write a text file. That said, IWOV does not publish the schema for .pages, and it could change at any time. Realistically, I can't imagine how they could make changes that break backwards compatibility, but it's something you should be careful of.
