Column Header Metadata in Virage Mediabin

Hi,

I am using silverlight UI(RIA). I tried to add the custom metadata ID in the column Header Metadata.xml and I restarted the Mediabin server.

The changes are not getting reflected in the Silverlight UI. Following is the error message that's thrown in the logs.

2/12/2010 2:10:01 PM Skipping metadata definition \Program Files (x86)\MediaBin Server\Config Files\Metadata\Column Header Metadata.xml. Id already in catalog.

Any idea how to resolve this?

Invoke the Windows Native Client from a MB Admin account and click on the "Metadata Manager" tab on the left column second from the bottom. This has a sub-item called "Groups". There you will be able to manipulate the "Column Header Metadata" group.

Alternatively you could delete this group and ten at next server start-up it will read the XML again, however I recommend simplky making the edits you want via this interface.
