set extended attributes

Is there a way to set extended attributes in the Teamsite Extended Attributes section of a file. For example, when using MetaTagger to tag a document, it sets the xml string in the Teamsite Extended Attributes section of the file.

In order to write to Teamsite metadata, you start string with "Teamsite/Metatdata/some value". I am interested to know how to write into the Teamsite extended attributes area of a file.

Hi Lucas,

Check out the $IWHOME/bin/iwextattr command. You can use the "-s" flag to set name/value pairs, like this:

iwextattr -s Language=Spanish my_file.html

Hi Lucas,

Sorry I misunderstood. I don't have MetaTagger, so I'm not familiar with some of the nuances, but I imagine that MetaTagger just piggy backs on the extended attributes available to every file in TeamSite.

Can you run the command:

iwextattr -l filename

and post what it shows you?

You could, alternatively, use the "File--> File Properties" command to list what meta data is set. . . .that might help me help you.
