What's stopping you? Traverse the directory and parse XML Files.

No one is going to write code for you. If I provided the 10 lines of perl required, you would have no idea what to do with it.

You do not talk about what you are trying to do, how it will be used, etc. What is your environment ? You mention component (as in a LiveSite component) which does not use Perl.

The best solution is to use LSCS (if you have purchased it). There is a sample app that does what you are looking for.
