Reverse deployments from Windows to Solaris

Hi,

I am trying to do reverse deployments that can fetch some binaries from Windows to Solaris.

following ERROR reported in the deployment log:

ENG: 2011-04-28 16:40:50 GMT+00:00 Thread-3082 ***ERROR - Job ID=m2449Deployment=irdu_reverse_binaries
Base: Exceeded all 3 retries to get a connection with the target OpenDeploy host.
Failed creating socket.
ENG: 2011-04-28 16:40:50 GMT+00:00 Thread-3082 ***ERROR - I/O error with [/apps/OpenDeployNG/log/src.irdu_reverse_binaries.files.TUS1CMSAPPPIN05.to.IRDU-RELEASE.enterprise.veri
tas.com.log.mf]: File not found

Here I am attaching my OD deployment script. Can anyone please share your thoughts to fix this issue?

See if there are any logs on the Solaris server worth reviewing.

No. I didn't find any other log except deployment log on Solaris. Apart from this Windows OD logs are not getting created.

Try creating a temp deployment to push from the windows server to Solaris and see if that works. Just use the OOTB test deployment.

Do you have remote desktop access to the windows box ?

yes I do have remote desktop access. When I do telnet to Windows it's properly connecting.I cross check OD configuration on Windows and everything looks good. Here is the entry in odrcvr.xml file. ignore tags.

"node host="xxxx.ges.symantec.com"
allowedDirectories
path name="/default/main/****/WORKAREA/xxxx/irdu-release_builds"
/allowedDirectories
/node"

Let me know if this entry is wrong.

Without knowing how things are set up on your servers I cannot tell I expect it is due to the naming of the servers in odnodes and the conf.

That is why I suggested making the deploy work standalone.

OD configuration looks good on both the servers. did you ever tried reverse deployments from Windows to Solaris? or did you experience this type error message?

That error message isn't specific to reverse deployments. It usually has to do with how you address the servers. Using a node with server="localhost" in your odnodes.xml is a common cause. Otherwise, make sure your <localNode> in odbase/odrcvr/deployment configs are all in order, and that both servers can find each other using the specified hostnames by ping and/or telnet.

telnet is working fine. still I am getting following errors in the OD log:

***ERROR - I/O error with [/apps/OpenDeployNG/log/src.irdu_reverse_binaries.files.Txxxxxxx05.to.IRDU-xxxx.xxxxx.****.com.log.mf]: File not found
