/iw-cc/taketask?taskid= not working.

Hi,

I am generating a custom link in an email for users which takes them to teamsite and lets them to take the ownership of the group task.

My link make use of taketask command....
i.e. http://iwovprod001/iw-cc/taketask?taskid=127182

Here "iwovprod001" is my actual server name. However this link with server name in URL is taking me to page not found error page.

But when I mention server DNS name in URL i.e. http://teamsiteprod/iw-cc/taketask?taskid=127182
it works fine.

This has started happening from recent migration which we carried out.
Wondering if I missing something in server configuration here?

Please suggest.

Most likely it is a DNS issue. Open a DOS prompt and type

ping iwovprod001

and

ping teamsiteprod

If the first fails and the second works, send an email to your networking team. They need to make an alias
