Workflow's are not getting Instantiated through Custom CGI for the First Time.

Hi ,

We have migrated from TeamSite 6.7.2 to Teamsite 7.2.1 on Windows. We have certain functionality which gives weird kind of error on the new platform.

We are trying to run workflows from an external CGI custom made GUI, which hits the newjob functionality in TeamSite to instantiate the workflow .This functionality gives an error (Attached: product_catalog_error.JPG) when it is run for the first time from the external CGI URL.

However if we run the same workflow through TeamSite UI through Action-> NewJob, the workflow get instantiated. Also, when we come back to the custom external CGI now and try to hit the link the workflow instantiate from there also. The CGI will work till the particular session (we are not sure session time/scope) and once that is over/expired and the workflow would not again instantiate from CCI. Again we have to run the workflow from TeamSite UI to instantiate it for the first time and it will work from CGI till the session last.

We have dig into the issue and have found some differences in the Web.xml of both the versions/servers like

teamsite.web.filter.OpenSessionsInView

org.springframework.web.filter.DelegatingFilterProxy

Does not exist in the earlier version TS6.7.2 file.

Please suggest.

I'm not sure how much this will help, but...
6.7.2 uses tomcat and 7.2.1 uses jboss

In 6.7.2, when a user closes the TeamSite window and then opens up a new one, their session remains active (unless they exceeded the default 24-hour lifespan)

In 7.2.1 when a user closes the TeamSite window and then opens a new one, their session needs to be re-authenticated (regardless of how recently they previously logged in)

It's possible that your external CGI is working off of a pre-existing authentication cookie and worked just fine within the 6.7.2 context where the cookie tended to remain authenticated for 24-hours, but is failing in the new 7.2.1 context because (for some reason) the authentication expires with the closing of the TS GUI window instead of being [solely] time-based.

Could you please suggest what can be the difference while running through 'newjob' or 'assign'.

I'd find it a bit hard to believe that "newjob" vs. "assign" would cause it to incorrectly try to run edit_performance_curve.wft[.ipm] versus the apparently specified modify_std_data.wft

I would find it much easier to believe that the use of "newjob" might not work if the available_templates.cfg only configures the workflow for "assign"
