Encoding of special characters - apostrophe

Hi

I am using Teamsite version 6.7.2 version.
I am getting problem when the user inserts apostrophe in the field.
For example : if the user inserts Fred O'Neil..It saves properly but when i read this dcr and write it in text file , it writes it as O’Neill.

Please help.What kind of encoding is needed here?

Apostrophes are not part of the standard ascii character set. Take a look at this for one example of the various character mappings.

Apostrophes can be handled via standard XML entity references - but you'll probably have to do your own conversion from the the entity-number code (&#39 to the entity-text (&apos code

Also - be aware that Microsoft (Word mostly) has a tendency to use non-standard characters "on your behalf" - so copying and pasting from Word tends to cause a number of issues that need to be fixed.
