Can I use the same Workflow and deployment configuration for diffe targets
tirrudev
Hi,
As of now we r maintaing our config files in Teamsite GUI.I have developed a workflow which
does a filelist deployment.I have configured in the script in such a way that if the files
are from "iw-home" folder then enter a particular if loop prepare a filelist array and source and target paths.then the target is E\Interwoven\Teamsite. and if files selected are
from "od-home" folder it enters a different if loop and prepare a filelist array then the target area is E:\Interwoven\OpendeployNG.
But whatever the folder either "iw-home" or "od-home" after executing a particular if loop
comes out of that loop and prepares a filelist file and executes a odstart command which has
source target and deployment xml as parameter.
But Now I have to maintain a different folder called "sample" this should deploy to a
different server.NOW in the ipl script I can manage to get targetpath But After that it
comes out and runs a "odcmd" which has a deployment xml as parameter. So is it possible that
if the files are from a folder called "sample"..run a odstart with different deployment
xml.Can someone suggest what is the best way to do this?
Can I use the same Workflow and deployment configuration

The short answer is yes. There are several ways to do this. A few that pop into my head:
1) Have multiple definition elements in your odconf file (with different targetFilesystem area attribute values) and pass the definition name in that pertains to the file list you are using and use this in your execDeploymentTask useDefinition attribute.
2) Have multiple definition elements in your odconf file, with an execDeploymentTask element for each. The definitions would the use filters to determine which files in the file list should be used for that definition (and therefore target).
3) Have a single definition element in your odconf file and pass the target path in and use it as the targetFilesystem area attribute value.
4) Have separate odconf files that you call based on the type of filelist you want to deploy. Then, based on the file type you are deploying, just change the odconf file name in your od command.
Hope that helps.
