Ask for help! Teamsite server crash and uvfs filesystem hang

Our teamsite server gets crashed. "iwtrace.log" show that iwserver.linux had a segment fault and exited. After iwserver crash, IW virtual filesystem (uvfs) hanged. Any access to /iwmnt will cause termial hang, no more responds. Teamsite server recovery after reboot the machine.
I had tested to kill iwserver.linux process also will cause this situation.

I want to add sh command to auto restart the iwserver. Anyone know how to solve the uvfs problem?

First of all - if your server - or server process - crashes, you should run iwfsck -d on your backing store to make sure it didn't get corrupted. If any errors show up you should contact Support before doing anything else.

That said - there are various programs out there that can be set to monitor other processes and restart them if they don't appear to be running. I don't know the names of them off-hand, but I do know they exist and you can probably find them through google.

Not sure about uvfs - perhaps someone with more linux experience can respond regarding that.

uvfs doesn't typically require hand-holding (in my experience) as it's a library more than an individual process. If you solve the underlying issues that's making the iwserver unhappy (rather than ignoring them and just restarting the service), you'll probably find that uvfs will stop hanging.

As ghoti said, I'd suspect backing store corruption and/or an improper install if this is a new server.

When I try to manual restart iwserver.linux, the filesystem respond again.
IW still not work, but I can unmount the IW virtual filesystem.
So I stop and restart IW, then it can work.
It temporarily solve my problem.
