Deploy of sitemap across environment
Seema
Hi All,
Have query regarding deployment of sitemap (only the node structure not the pages) across enviornment.
We have tried using SPAR however we observed that it retains the sitemap & node ids as it is so what is difference in copying the default.sitemap as it is than doing through SPAR?.
Is SPAR the right way to deploy sitemap or there is some other way too?
We need to deploy it from DEV to staging & further from staging to prod.
Regards,
Seema.

Are you talking about one-time content migration or is this something you'll need to achieve often?
In the former case, you could use a SPAR but I'd suggest copying over the content store, if you don't have anything else on that server. If it's the latter, use OpenDeploy via workflow.
The sitemap is an XML file like any other, and doesn't rely on any special EAs, instead relying on naming convention (default.sitemap) and folder placement, so you shouldn't have any problems copying it over.
