Sites not publishing latest content

Env: TS7.0, LS7.0, OD7.0 Windows Server Enterprise 2008

We have an existing content store from production, and we copied it into testing environment to use. Same TS version, server spec & user. The same custom workflow is also used in uat.

I have a filename.page which has dependencies of filename.xml & filename.gif. And the workflow will generate this page into html and subsequently publish the html to production OD receiver servers.

When I publish this page, the workflow was able to end, but the html page in the server is not updated with the latest contents.

What I found out is that during the generate html workflow task, it doesn't update the html file and take the latest copy for publishing.

What I did for now is delete the html, xml & gif in workarea and in staging, and then only the publishing takes the updated page.

This workflow is working fine earlier in production, so what do u think could be the cause? Is it the files have conflicts in workarea/staging? Or is it the workflow itself?

This is very broad question to answer, with out seeing code snippets or workflow logs it is hard to pin point to the issue.

The issue can be that any of you configuration files might reference to the old server and it might have failed. usually this is the case (Human Error in most part) I presume that apart from copying store to the very very Identical test Env, you might have copied the basic configurations or custom scripts to the new test env and might have missed the reference to the server at some point. (More in general)

When you questioned that if there is conflict? then when you published your file it might have popped up a conflict indication, and you haven't mentioned any thing as such.

One more question is that is your html content is Database driven? I.e u deploy content to Db and then pull that content out of Db to generate the page?

I can go one and on on this, the bottom line is you need to provide Code snippet for the part as how you are generating the html page and also any log references when you faced this Issue.
