copy files from one workarea to another

I want to copy certain files from workarea A to workarea B.

1. As the folder sturture in both the workareas is not same, using XCOPY and IWCP does not help.
2. If certain folder does not exist in workarea B, I need a way to create that folder before copying any file from the respective folder in workarea A.

Any suggestions?

You may want to look into Open Deploy to do this sort of File migration

I'm a bit confused here - '1' says you have different directory structures, '2' says you want to replicate the directory structure from B to A.

Also - are these two workareas on the same branch? If so - they should have the same directory structure. This then leads to questions about why you're trying to do it this way rather than Submit (in

followed by Get Latest (in A) - although if you don't want to do the Submit in B, but rather copy modified files from one workarea to another (on the same branch) then you might want to look at iwupdate.

Again though, the details of your situation are missing, which makes it difficult to provide reasonable resolutions.

In my workflows (WFM), I have an update task that uses a configurable variable for the target workarea. That way, during instantiation, you can pick the target workarea. Let me know if you need a copy of that wfm.
