Embedding a html file in mails

lpk

Hi,
I have a new(read as weird) requirement. Upon approval a html file should be embedded to a mail.

P.S : Embedding in the sense,It is not like attaching a file. It should be viewable on the opening the mail itself.

thanks,

This is doable, there might be many ways to do this depending on the complexity of the html, say if one have to include headers and footeres and Left and right navs in the mail as if one seeing the whole page in the mail or simple including the content well in the mail. In any case if you are using the OOTB WFT and using iwsend_mail.ipl I recommend u start investing your time in working on this file "reviewer_textbody.tpl".

Thank You

assuming you are doing in PERL,
You can write an external task which sends emails using your SMTP server.
$contents can have your html. This solution can be extended through out your workflows for sending custom formatted email

my $msg = MIME::Lite->new(
From => $sender,
To => $recipients,
Subject =>$subject,
Type =>'multipart/alternative'
);

### Add parts (each "attach" has same arguments as "new"):
$msg->attach(
Type => 'text/html; charset=UTF-8',
Data => qq |$contents|
);
### use Net Smiley Frustrated

MTP to do the sending
$msg->send('smtp','__SMTP_SERVER_NAME__', Debug=>0 );

Reghu.
