Output file last modified by system instead of author

Hi All,

We have the impersonation disabled and because of this when an author submits the files through a workflow and after the article is published to staging and the workflow is complete, the article's last modified shows system instead of the author.

Is there any workaround where we can avoid this and have the last modified as author instead of system with impersonation disabled.

My guess - "no" - the reason one uses impersonation is so that the actions run through the GUI are run by (or "as if by") the logged in user - and thus their identity gets associated with those actions (like last-modified-by)

If you turn off impersonation, that information won't be available at the underlying OS level.

You could use EAs and explicitly set some EA on the files during the workflow process to record the author's name, etc. - but that information won't (at least not by default) be reflected in the OOTB listing interfaces.
