MediaBin database server

Hi,

Is it necessary to keep the MB database server in the same box or is it ok to remove it to some other box. Is there any particular reason ( perforamance etc.) to keep it in the same box as MB.

MediaBin: 4.5.2
SQL server: 2000
OS: Wondows 2003

In a corporate environment I have never seen the DB and MB server on the same machine. Except for network latency depending on where the servers are there should be no other issues.
