JAVA API for LSCS

I am farily new to Interwoven product line, so this question might even be a stupid one:

Similar to the Java API to interact with TeamSite(CSSDK) used to query TeamSite, is there a Java API to interact with LSCS. I understand that there is REST API to query LSCS, but is there a Java API?

There's Javadocs under iw-home/install/livesite/install_scripts/docs. It has the API for *LSDS*; I haven't looked at updates to it recently but I think for *LSCS* the REST API is all you get.

Note that since LSCS is a wrapper around IDOL, you can always try connecting to IDOL directly with the IDOL Java API (docs not provided with LSCS), though that's probably not a supported option.

While the direct interface is an excellent idea, the IDOL licensing prevents the direct use of the embedded form of IDOL - but I would love to be called wrong if you can figure out a way to make it work...

what kind of interaction are you looking for? but one way to retrieve content is to use LSCSQuery, lookup LSCSQuery class and how you can extend it in livesite javdocs.

yes you cannot work directlry with the embedded idol engine as this violates the license

I am looking to run a search and get a result set and get the actual content stream of a document.

I cant find any info on LSCSQuery. Where can I find more info/javadoc on this class?

I think I found the answer to my question: lscsclient.jar

Is this the right API to use? I see it has methods to retrieve metadata, content stream etc..
