TeamSite not coming up after LS post config

Hi,

I am trying to install both Dev and Runtime on the same machine.
The installation completes successfully, but when I follow the steps mentioned in the Authoring Guide rev 1 to do post configuration steps, the teamsite does not come up after running this command.
Unix: /iw-perl/bin/iwperl install_archive.ipl lscs-sample.spar

I am able to see that the files do get created in TeamSite before it goes down as the above script does a build at the end and that is what causes it to fail. even stopping and restarting the teamsite server does not do any good. I dont even see any visible errors in the iwserver.log file.

Any help will be appreciated.

Take a look at (assuming TS 7.x)

Sorry, forgot to mention the version info.
It is TeamSite 7.2 on Redhat Linux v5.4

Attached are the 2 log files as mentioned by rpoulin.

the content_center log makes it appear the the appilcation did not rebuild correctly.

from the livesite_customer toolkit can us isss a build install and capture the output or monitor it for errors. some times they don't get propagated to the ant script.

I do not see any errors.
Here is the error I see when accessing teamsite.

Holy wow, that's a whole lotta stack traces in your server.log.

#1 your eventsubsystem appears to be misconfigured or improperly deployed
#2 your DB2 connection properties appear to be incorrect
#3 either iw-core is not deployed properly, or you have some serious permission errors.

Suggestion:
Comment out customer.tk.war and anything livesite-related in iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/toolkits.xml, then go to iw-home/install/bin and run install_webapps.ipl -i -f content_center.
* IF TeamSite comes up, you've got a problem in your custom pieces or in a LiveSite module. Comment things back in one-by-one and run that script again and you should be able to narrow down where the problem is.
* IF TeamSite still doesn't come up, check your server.log again but I'm betting you have some really bad permissions problems which makes me think TeamSite was not installed by 'root'. Suggestion there would be to reinstall, lest you spend the next 6 months fixing permissions.

I will follow the steps you mentioned and see if there is any difference. Here are some additional answers.

#2, The db2 connection is correct. As I mentioned earlier. everything works untill I do the post install steps for spar examples. Once I do that, all **** breaks loose Smiley Happy

Also I am logged in the machine as root and running everything as root only. The teamsite installation was also done by root.

I will get back with the outcome of what you mentioned.

Just to be sure, not _everything_ is running as root right? For instance, JBoss should be running as iwui and iwserver should be running as iwts.

Could be that your spar is just relying on a library that's no longer there in TS 7.2. The logs make it look like it's trying to find a cryptography key to support the SSL transport via javax.ssl, so I doubt your spar is causing that. Again, could be a permissions issue. You'll know if the spar is to blame if it's the only thing left commented-out in your toolkits.xml.

I commented the lscs-sample_spar toolkit and the login screen came back, but after putting in login/pass it gives the following error:

Also I checked the processes and jboss is running as iwui and iwserver is running as iwts.
I also just noticed that there are 0 files under this location: /apps/Interwoven/TeamSite/httpd/webapps, may be that is what is causing the above error? wonder why would nothing be getting copied there. has the jar file location changed to /apps/Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-preview.war/WEB-INF/lib from 7.x version onwards?

That's fine -- yes, all the webapps have moved to the ApplicationContainer (JBoss) in 7.1+, now that the iwservletd (Tomcat) has been retired. The ContentCenter app is actually iw-cc.war though.

This implies that iw-cc.war has been improperly deployed. Were there any running the install_webapps.ipl? If not, you could start looking at this the Java way instead of TeamSite way and start looking in iw-cc.war/WEB-INF and iw-cc.war/WEB-INF/lib and maybe iw-cc.war/WEB-INF/tld to see that struts.jar and the .tld files are in the app's classpath. That might help you find out where the immediate problem is, but I'd be concerned about this happening again as soon as you do a build/make_toolkit.

It's also possible that this is just a remnant of the SPAR, since I didn't think iw-cc used struts (LiveSite does). You could try deleting ApplicationContainer/server/deploy/work and then running the install_webapps.ipl again. (That directory contains generated files like compiled JSPs)
