New Role not working with workflow

HI,

I created a new role and add in the WFT file in order to run the workflow but everytime i try to run the workflow i get the error that workflow is not available sort of. And if i change the role to Editor(in-box role) workflow works fine. It is happening with the new role even though i am adding the role id in available_templates.cfg file.

Environment is ts 6.7.2 in linux

Will that role memeber have access to execute the configured workflow?
Also make sure that any role based regex is blocking this workflow from execution.

You created the new role - great.
Did you also apply / assign users to that new role on the branch(es) on which you want them to be able to invoke the workflow? Just having the role defined doesn't mean anything by itself, the role has to be "used" in order for it to potentially have an effect.

Yes after creating the role, I assigned the group to this role and added in the branch but somehow new role is not working but i am still checking config files.

Check your custom role that has sufficient permission to execute the workflow.

To check your custom role

1. From Administration Tab -->Roles and Permissions-->Manage Roles-->Your Custom Role-->Workflow.

2. Click "More Detail"

3. Verify the required options are selected for initiating the workflows.

To try custom roles, you should use WFM instead of WFT. Duplicate your w/f in wfm, make an entry to available_models.xml and grant this role access to this workflow in available_models.xml.
Custom roles and groups work with wfm, this is what I have noticed with my experiments unless I missed something.

They (custom roles) should work with both WFTs and WFMs - my guess is that there's something else that isn't set up correctly, but it's rather difficult to tell when you don't have the server in question to poke around on.

You may have to contact Support and send them all sorts of information, and perhaps set up a LiveMeeting with them so that they can poke around to figure out what's [not] happening.
