Using 6.5 SP2 backing store on a new m/c with 6.7.1

I converted backing stores using iwmigrate to new format when i upgraded from 6.1 to 6.5 SP2.(3 yrs back)

Now I am doing a fresh install to 6.7.1.

Can I use the 6.5 SP2 store and activate it in 6.7.1?

I am not clear if I need conversion, please help

Yes, you should run iwmigrate for converting from any version below 6.7.1 to the 6.7.x format.

The following kb article gives the steps necessary you should take to do the iwmigrate:

If you had the content store in place already and did the fresh install pointing at the content store, most of the steps are done automatically. By doing this way, you would only need to run the following at the end:
iwusermigrate and iwaccessmigrate

But the store is from 6.5 SP2 version where I already performed iwmigrate 3 yrs back when we migrated from 6.1 to 6.5

Also, per doc from IW, I dont think we need to? Pl correct me if I am wrong

Interwoven Support and their documentation hasn't always been consistent regarding if/when you need to perform an iwmigrate as part of an upgrade. Generally speaking, if the version of the backing store has changed (if I recall, there is a "VERSION" file in the backing store that you can look at the contents of) then you should do an iwmigrate to be able to take full advantage of any backing store enhancements. If the version of the backing store has not changed, you don't need to do an iwmigrate.

There are certain upgrades where you pretty much must do an iwmigrate, but if you've been keeping your system fairly closely up-to-date then many of the upgrades only recommend as opposed to require an iwmigrate session - but it's still generally a good idea to do so with any upgrade in which the backing store version has changed.
