Migrate data assets from Mediabin to Sharepoint
becool321
Hey Guys,
How do I migrate data assets with metadata from Mediabin to Sharepoint server. Any help on instructions on how to do this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

By metadata are you including any custom fields or just metadata that travels naturally with the asset? What range of asset types are you including?
There are two basic ways to make sure that an asset retrieved from MediaBin contains all the associated metadata:
1) The XML Encoder primitive will give you a file containing the image original and all associated metadata. Of course the process of parsing that file and instructing Sharepoint to mark the assets with that metadata is left to the reader.
2) If the asset types include XML metadata as part of the format (e.g., Tiff, PSD, JPG, Photoshop EPS) the easiest way to get the metadata ingested may be via the XML mapping functionality. I believe Sharepoint has at least some capability to read XMP metadata.
Cheers,
