Thinking you can administer TeamSite and its supporting cast of applications and features without being technically sound in perl, XML, your operating system, etc. is a bad assumption to make. I've noticed many posters (does it seem like there are more all of a sudden or is it just me?) that ask some very basic questions about how things work, which leads me to believe they have no understanding of basic operating system administration, certainly no programming experience, and little common sense in some cases. I know that Interwoven is trying desperately to develop and market OpenDeploy, workflow, and other features in a way that requires little or no programming or technical background. In my opinion, they are light years away from that day. If everything works, you definitely don't need to know anything about the underlying structures of your system. But the moment anything doesn't work, if you don't have a decent uderstanding of perl, XML or your operating system, you are screwed. I would recommend that anyone who takes on the administrative role for their TeamSite installation either sprint to some serious training classes or hire on someone with those skills. Expecting to be taught those capabilities through a place like DevNet is not the way to do it.
