Review Task Question

Hi everyone,
This is more of a requirement question. I am working on Workflow Modeler and a subpart of my workflow is something like this.
Author edits/attaches new content-->Sends data for review
With regard to this i have 2 questions:-
1. My reviewers will not have much knowledge about Teamsite functionality so i would like to give them the Preview pages (HTML) format to look at and review the content. But i am notifying them through the email, so i am not very sure how to accomplish this, if at all its possible. Also i am not storing the preview pages in my Teamsite i.e. i am not generating the files in HTML format.
2. Also while the content has been given to the reviewers, i want the authors not to work on the content. Is there a possiblity to put the content under locks, so that only the master can unlock the files. Or can i have 2 staging areas to work in and merge them together later.
