Clustering TS 6.7.1 and OD 6.2.1

Hi. We are just beginning to work on converting part of our environment to Windows Veritas clusters.

Has anybody been through this and have some tips or "gotchas" to share?

My searching hasn't come up with much of anything so far.

6.7.1 is pretty easy to cluster. 7.2.1 was much more difficult. I had 2 serverw, one backup. Veritas was monitoring several different apps and swapped over as needed.

7.2.1 is much more difficult because of the DB install.

I'm finding some things in OD that have node specific information in them (the license, deploy.cfg are two examples). What about for TeamSite?

Also, in the case of OD, I would like it to source deployments from the floating IP address, not the address of the server we're on. I haven't found a way to do that, yet.

That's the kind of stuff I'm interested in.

Licensing will be per server. No way around that. However for all configurations you should use teamsite.myco.com for everything even if your servers are teamsite1 and teamsite2

You need to have all configurations on a branch so they are common between both servers and will be pushed to both.

I assume your iwstore is on a shared disk.

Yup, that's generally what we were planning (hoping) for.

Ok, the first attempt didn't go well.

Is the general process to install TeamSite and all patches on one server, then failover, remove/rename the install directory, and repeat?

That isn't what I did, but it is what I'm planning to do next.

Huh? No that doesn't sound correct.

Are you doing separate installs that end up on the same disk? When I did it I installed TeamSite on 2 systems in identical manners only sharing the iwstore.
