Web CMS (TeamSite)
Teamsite to livesite migration
vdreamz
Hi,
We have teamsite implementation (currently on 7.2) and we still use wfts and all perl stuff. We are looking to move towards livesite ( as a content repository) and use lscs + lsds. We have lot of dcrs within bunch of branches. If we dont choose to use Sitepub, does it need any content re-entry ?? or is it possible to use existing dcrs and use ootb livesite wf to deploy the content to livesite content store. Please advise

I hope you have some help.
Yes you can use your existing DCRs with the SitePub/LSCS/LSDS
Yes you can use the OOTB SP workflow with your DCRs.
You will need to write some components and build some pages to consume the DCRs you have. That will require a lot of XSL, plus a lot of knowledge about SP.

Thanks for the info. I wanted to check if we DONT use any sitepublisher (.pages or components) but just use the existing dcrs with livesite workflow to deploy the content to the livesite content repository and use LSCS restful api to get the content from the livesite repository. Also, would it need any thing more than using the OOTB wf and restful api of the lscs.

Yea you can deploy the DCRs to LSCS and use them without SP/LSDS
The sample code does that, it is a DCR/JS based example and no .pages are used
You still have nothing to display the content with, so you will either write something custom or use SP components and pages
