Could not send an email to Reviewer

Hi,

I am using wft files to do workflows for a period of time.But Know I am asked to do in WFM.

I am new to WFM.I have gone through WFM guide.and started developing a workflow as below:

Editor Selects some files and starts the job.
Start----->UserTask(User can Abort the job or send files for reviewing)---->(if

SendfilesforReview)---->(Reviewer Task)---->ACCEPT---->END
(if Abortjob)---END ----->REJECT---->END

I have configured reviewer task as below:
Available Groups--->reviewers Group
Available user------>$IW_USER

Return on Reject-->False
Review Type---Concurrent
Reviewers--->$IW_USER

Notify Reviewers--->True
variable--->mail_template-->reviewerNotification.xsl
class--->ReviewerMailNotificationTask

But when i selected a file and instantiated the workflow:
In the workflow Tab in GUI--I go to the user Task and click "sendfiles for review" --->it

goes to next task Accept or Reject; and shows that completed Mail Notification.But I did not

get an email.

Can some one please tell me where am I going wrong? and any other modifications to be done?

and in the iw.cfg
in the [iwsend_mail] section
maildomain=MyCompany.com
mailserver=smtp.MyCompany.com
use_mapping_file=true
email_mapping_file=D:\Interwoven\TeamSite\local\config\wft\email_map.cfg

First, is "MyCompany.com" literally what is in the iw.cfg, or is it just masking the name of the actual company for the post?

You can try to look through IWHOME/local/logs/iwui/servletd_out.log for any indication of problems coming from the ReviewerMailNotificationTask class, but ultimately you may have to write your own email class (a la the MailNotificationTask.java class that's in the customer_sample_src directory) so that you can explicitly enable debugging - or switch to using the iw_solutions_email.ipl script (at least temporarily) where you can easily enable debugging and try to find / fix the problem - and then maybe go back to the Java implementation afterwards.

Have you actually tried it??? It certainly would be simple to try...why don't you give it a shot and then ask questions if it fails...

I tried using iw_solution_email.ipl and cc_maildeader.tpl

Start--->UserTask(Editor Sends files to Review)----ExternalTask(Sends an Email to the Reviewer)---(UserTask to Review the files)---Accepts---End Job
Reject----Send back to editor

For sending an email I have used external task in that I have configured as below:

$IW_HOME\\iw-perl\\bin\\iwperl.exe $IW_HOME\\local\\config\\wft\\solutions\\internet_email.ipl -t 'Review'

and in the variables iw_mailheader_pt =internet_ccmail_header.tpl iw_mailbody_pt=internet_ccmail_htmlbody.tpl
iw_mailbody_text_pt=internet_ccmail_textbody.tpl

and have turned debugging on

Thanks for andy!!,After Referring to his one of the posts I came to know that for iw_solution_email.ipl the email_map.cfg should be in c:\iw-home\local\config\wft\solutions and has to be in the following format

I was able to send an email to a user and for sending an email to a group, I have modified cc_heder.tpl;I hardcoded the group name and I resolved the members of the group and then sent an email.I was able to send an email successfully.

But My question is:

1.How to access the shared by element of grouptask in cc_header.tpl?

It's been a while since I had to do this, but this is the line in my code that pulls the groupname. I'm not sure if this will translate into your setup or not:

 
$groupname = iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.workflowinformation.task[1].users.group@v');

Then I used a CLT to pull out the group members into an array, loop through the array and get the users in the group.

You haven't mentioned what version of TeamSite you are using, nor the platform (though from one of your postings we can assume Windows - yes/) and I don't believe you've mentioned whether you are using OS-groups or TS-groups. This information is important if you want reasonable answers to your questions.

I believe the CLT to use for expanding the group information would be: iwgroup list-users group_name -recurse - this should give you a list of userids (one per line), which you can them chomp and feed to iwuseradm email user_id to retrieve the email address associated with the user when they were registered as TS Users via the UI (i.e. the information stored in

iwhome/conf/roles/tsusers.xml

)

Is it better to use TS Groups or OS Groups...Even If I have OS Groups..They need to have TS access...So Please kindly mention what are the Advantages and Disadvantages?

That's a whole different question. My preference is to use TS Groups because they're maintainable at the TS level and you don't have to go through corporate red-tape to get group members added / removed, etc. - and you don't have to worry about doing a query against an LDAP / ActiveDirectory server.

I used iwgroup list-users group_name -recurse to retreive list of users and chomp them and then used iwov emailmap to fetch emailids from email_map.cfg.But will change iwov_emailmap.pm to fetch the files from tsusers.xml...
