TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 to 7.1 migration

We have a requirement to migrate from TS 6.7.1 SP1/OD 6.2 on RH Linux to TS 7.1/OD 7.1. I would like to know whether somone on this forum has already done a similar migration and any best practices to be followed, other than the 7.1 release notes.
Also how long would be the migration from concept phase to release.
Any changes on existing wf scripts/callouts etc are needed. Thanks in advance.

Yea I have done it. Practice 7.1 install in general first. Things are significantly different (likely for the better, but still very different). Understand all the pieces and how you install. Also you need to run the installer multiple times ( I think I ran it 3 or 4 times) to install/upgrade various pieces.

Do you mean that install failed during two-three times and was successful during the fourth install?

No - the installer only presents modules to install that are relevant (or something like that) and once you've installed base modules, the sub-modules become available for installing.

It's a layered approach which, although rather confusing, appears to work (for the most part).
