Include values from another DCR in XSL

Hi,

We are using XSL based PTs. In one of the fields of one type of DCR, user can browse and select another DCR (of other category/data type). In the generated HTML, we need to retrieve value from some of the fields of second DCR.

We have tried xsl:document tag and then access the specific field like this -

< xsl:value-of select="document($includedDCRPath)/RootCont/Cont1/Item1/text()"/ >

But with this if the datacapture.cfg of the second DCR gets changed we have to make the changes to this XSL as well.
Is there a better way around?

Whenever you make any changes in datacapture.cfg and same change have to be done in PT files(XSL/TPL). Are you using this approach(selecting another DCR in current DCR) in multiple templates?. If yes, try to make second DCR presentation XSL as include file and use <xsl:call-template> in current presentation XSL.

So using xsl:call, I will be calling another xsl file.
I have a doubt here, how we can pass the name/path of the second DCR to second xsl from one of the fileds in the first DCR (as user has browsed and selected path of second DCR in one of the fields in first DCR).
