Ajax Components are not working with LiveSite tag lib

We are using a livesite ajax component , which is rendering content based on ajax calls.
For ajax calls the URL is created using $Ajax_URL. The urls created using $AJAX_URL have
.ajax in their urls . These urls works fine in Livesite.

Now we are using livesite tag library to integrate content from Livesite to our front end
technology which is Websphere portal 6.1.5 . we are rendering full .page using livesite
tag library on portlets in websphere portal.

This is where we are facing this issue . Same ajax component which is working in a .page
in livesite is not working on portal when we fetch the .page using tag library approach.

You'll probably have to do some sort of "re-write" for all your AJAX URLs to include the portal context. You'll have to do this for the OOTB $AJAX_URL once it is resolved -- perhaps a filter post HTML is generated but before it is thrown out to the browser.
