Polish(Poland)characters not appearing in component

Hi,

I have a question...Does interwoven support Polish characters?
I was able to enter polish characters in dcr and submit them which updated the db(SQL 2000).
The polish characters appear fine when I view the db but they are not returned as it is when we query in the code.
The polish characters alone(like acute a) appears as normal 'a' in the component.Whereas the other special characters(other languages) appear fine

Can anyone share some idea

Yes this is a known problem, Try getting answers from Interwoven Support.
They would say to implement everything in UTF-8, including writing your logfiles in UTF-8. Inspite of all this there is nothing works.

The only work around is that , one has to encode the special characters in ASCII or utf-8 compatible format and then publish them out to db, so while fetching you get the correct code and you can do what ever you want to do with it.

If you find any other solution other than this, please do share.

You might want to look at this thread regarding being able to get UTF-8 from MS SQL Server - not sure if it applies entirely to what you're doing, but it sounds like it might.

Note - you'll have to talk to your DBAs to get the nitty-gritty details - I'm not a DBA and I don't play one on TV either ;-)
