Hello Friends,
I came across scenario where multiple site can be deployed on LSDS runtime server. For these sites, static contents deployed to Apache webserver while .page files deployed to LSDS server.
To communicate between Apache and LSDS (as LSDS based on tomcat) mod_jk communicator is used that is basically AJP connector and listening on port 8009 (or other given port).
On Apache server, named virtual host should be configure for each site. Virtualhost can configure in httpd.conf (or other conf file) file with document root directory for each site.
It is working fine and looking feasible on Apache end. The question is what would be best approach to configure host entries on LSDS side for multiple sites?
As per my knowledge, there are two ways of doing virtual host configuration on Tomcat:
- By creating multiple instance of Tomcat for individual sites and configure with mod_jk & worker, or
- Add multiple host entries in server.xml file
#1: It means needs to install multiple instance of LSDS? Is this approach be worth full?
#2: By default it is pointing
/web directory. So making changes in server.xml file, how much it will impact on LSDS and it's functionality?
I hope someone of us came across with this kind of implementation.
Any pointer and inputs will be highly appreciated.
Regards,Faizi
