preview problems

Does anyone seem to have issues with previewing from a DCR. Our server resources spike, and it takes a really long time. Is there something we may be mizzing. When users vitualize from TeamSite, everything is really fast

Hello Lucas,
I don't know if we talk about the same issues,
but we have a massive problem with the preview function
over the last months:
we are using teamsite 5.5.2 SP 1 on an 4 CPU WinNT box, and experienced a massive cpu load from the preview process "iwtmplpreview.cgi".
two weeks ago, all 4 CPUs were running at 100 %, all load was caused by 5 haning iwtmplpreview processes!
we now found a way to reproduce this error:
By clicking many times on the preview button in a template (it worked with any template, the custom ones and the ones from IW bootcamp) we were able to get these processes.

Did you experienced the same problem?

I am also using a quad processor box. When I preview a page with a fair amount of template logic, the MAX CPU is around 5-6%. What type of files are you previewing? If they are templated, you may have bad logic in your tpl. Each time you preview a page it is regenerating all of the page.
If not, check the server side code (asp, jsp etc). It may be causing the processors to max out.

Have you tried previewing a simple html file?
Do you get the same results when you click on the title of a file in teamsite, without using the preview button?
