Can I edit DCR manually ?

Once a DCR is created, can I edit that DCR manually , rather than going through UI ? I understand that a DCR is of type DCR when its created through DCR. But once its created, if I edit it in the file system, will that be an error while previewing it or generating it ?

In general, yes you can.

Devil is in details though. Corresponding type's DCT implies pretty rigid DCR structure.
If you can maintain it and if you keep DCR well formed and if you take care of UTF-8 encoding
manually and keep proper data Tags' escaping yourself and so on - then sure, why not...

I dont intend to do this. This was an argument with friend and my stand was that it will give an error. But I guess I was wrong.
