iwpt_compile.ipl not working

Hi,

When I try to issue iwpt_compile.ipl with any of its options..Say I issue in the following way :

\Interwoven\Teamsite\biniwpt_compile.ipl -h

it does not display anything on the cmd.It just opens a iwpt_compile.ipl file...Can someone suggest what could be the issue...

What do you see in the command prompt when you type:

\> assoc .ipl
\> ftype iwperl

My guess is that the first one is your problem and you need to re-associate .ipl with iwperl and make sure that iwperl is set to run the file correctly.

Well that got you working, but that is really screwy. Your config is the same as mine and I do not need to run iwperl

yeah, I tested on a different dev server..That doen't require iwperl.exe..But this does,Don't know whats the diff or what could be the issue?

No clue. Somehow the default run config changed to default edit. No idea how or how to fix.

Are you, by any chance, working on a virtual server?
I had a problem once where settings from my primary server were overriding settings on my virtual server and had this kind of problem (like when I did an iwreset -ui, one of the steps involved running a perl script; but instead it launched it into my editor).

I don't remember what I did to fix it - I think it was some setting in the virtual configuration, but it's been a while.

I would if I could remember them - I seem to recall that I had to configure my virtual machine to not incorporate settings from the host machine. Beyond that, I don't think any information I give you would help unless you're using Parallels on a Mac (host machine) to run Windows (virtual machine).
