TS 5.5.2; W2K; Events Subsystem and Submit Trigger

Does Submit Trigger rely on the Events Subsystem ?
Heres what I am observing on my TS 5.5.2 on Windows 2000:
I have a submit trigger script running as NT service which does not kick off upon a submit event.
The Event Subsystem Service keeps crashing. In the eventsubd_err.log I see a java.lang.OutOfMemoryErorr.
When I submit a file, I do not see any entry in the iwevents.log either.
Any thoughts ?
How exactly does the submit trigger work in 5.5.2 ? Does it depend on the Events Subsystem Service ?

I don't recall the exact details, but I believe that 'iwatsub' is more dependent upon the actual iwevents.log than 'iwat' is - and 'iwat' is generally a lot easier to write scripts for.
Try using the 'iwat' clt and see if that works better regardless of the problems you are having with the event susbsystem (which I think is currently only used by DataDeploy)
