LiveSite training?
System
Does anyone know of a LiveSite implementation training class, real or virtual? We have it installed and working to a POC environment, but even after rtfm several times, I am not sure how to replicate this out to our real environments. Looking for a class specific to implementation and configuration of LSCS/LSDS all 721, with TS 721 on windows, target servers all Linux.

Have you clicked the Education button from DevNet ? Or try this

I have tried the education links to Autonomy's site, and they seem to have the TeamSite admin class, and some developers classes. I was looking for something more specific to LiveSite. Looking at the class outlines on the site, there doesn't seem to be much coverage of LiveSite. Am I missing a class offering there?
Thanks!

Depends on what you are looking for
The SP Component Developer Series is the best LS developer class. You likely will want that.
There is not a LS runtime class because it is really just set up and run. While it takes a while it is not that difficult.
What are you looking for specifically ?

I was just mentioning to a colleague, some training on LiveSite would be beneficial... specially since none of us here have worked with LiveSite before.
We're implementing Ts 7.2 with LS 7.2 in a new 2008 environment and it's been quite the headache trying to figure things out as we go along.

I am in the same situation as Guerin. All new to us, and trying to feel our way around. The OOTB stuff to a single environment was, as you said, set up and run. However, we now need to run to 5 seperate environments, mixing windows and Linux. Each will have it's own SQL2008 db server, from 1-3 application servers, and 1-3 webservers (All apache and Tomcat, regardless of platform). Each environment needs to host the same content, but use a promotion model so that it can not go to environment b without first being validated in environment a. Specifically what is causing me pain, really, is where to start. If I can figure out how to add the second environment, the rest should be easy. I have read through the existing docs enough to turn the brain to mush, and all that I have tried has been unsuccesful.

So you're just distributing the front-end? Sounds like your design problem is a deployment one. If that's the case, you want to read up on OpenDeploy, not just LiveSite.
Still, the docs and training would tell you what
can
be done but it won't tell you what
should
be done. I'd suggest you either post your specific design plan here for validation (once you figure it out), or hire a consultant that's already been around the block a few times, again at least for the validation aspect.

I am begging for a consultant, but no budget. No budget for training either, so I need to go out of pocket for it. That's why I want to find a LS specific vs the TSAdmin class. I did find a walkthrough on adding a node, and have configured. Waiting for build.bat to complete now. I have either spent the day figuring this out, or breaking something. I am good with either result at this point.

As much as trying things out first is the best way to learn, sometimes you just need a breather and there's tons of people here to help for free (if you can afford to wait a while for the answer). If you ask pointed questions such as "how do I add an additional deployment target to the OOTB LSCS v7.2.1 deployment", you'll find that people here will usually be able to point you in the right direction, even if it is just pointing you to the right section in the manuals.

Thanks for the advice. I have opened a new thread with more pointed questions.
