DNR Issue

Hi,

I am using teamsite 6.7.1 with OD 6.2.1 on windows 2003 platform. I am doing transactional deployments on 4 load balanced servers. I have written a dnr script which will be called in case the deployment fails. I have placed the dnr script on all the 4 target servers. Now I want that the dnr script of only that server should be called on which the deployment has failed.

For eg. Suppose I have 4 nodes in my replication farm. So in case the deployment falis on node 2, the dnr script kept on node 2 server only should be called.

Kindly suggest me how to achieve this.

I don't believe you can do this the way you want. A transactional deployment means that the entire deployment either succeeds or fails - not that it succeeds on some targets and fails on others; as such, I don't believe that OD distinguishes between the legs of the deployment that "actually" failed and the legs of the deployment that were rolled back because of the failure in another leg. It might, but I don't think it does.

You can certainly try setting up your DNR to run on target side on failure and try to get one of N legs to fail during a transactional deployment and see whether or not the DNR is run on just the one or on all the legs. If it runs on just the one - then I'm wrong and you should be happy.
