custom variable -- how to set value?

Hi,

Env:
TeamSite 6.7.2 on Linux

If you have the following in ui_custom.xml file under
iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/etc/conf/customer

[/html]

And this in workflow_custom.xml:
[html]

[/html]

How does one go about setting or getting that var_id? I have tried to look through the uicg, which talked about a variable release_date, but it not state how to set or get those values? Is it based on individual workflows, and you have to set it in each?

The uicg mentions something about:
The underlying property release_date is a custom TeamSite Workflow task variable,
specified as if it were accessed through a Java Bean

So do we have to set it through a java bean? If so, can anybody point me in the right direction?

PERL: Check WFTask.pm perl module to find functions setVariable
JAVA: U have to use CSSDK to set variables of task

So it looks like if you created a new custom variable, if you want your workflow to set those values, then it is on an individual workflow basis (either wfm or wft).

Not sure why the document mentions about Java Beans to get the values....

What exactly you want to do with custom variables?

It would be better if you elaborate your requirement and mention version & env.

Thanks, I was looking for a way to set a custom variable in the workflow tab. I thought it was done to all workflows, but it looks like you have to set it on each workflow individually.

Env is TS672 Linux.
