OpenDeploy with CSSDK ..help reqd.

Hi,

I have recently started working in teamsite and have developed Java code for CSSDK . I use CSSDK code to "submit the modified files to staging".
Now, i need to deploy these files to the staging area on our server.

This process is already being done through teamsite code to Open Deploy the files to staging. Now, it needs to be done through CSSDK code.
I have read the OD guide : OD_621_dev_V03_EN.pdf for the web services portion and the referenced docs mentioned there. There are some configuration file changes mentioned there. I am new to OpenDeploy and wanted to know how OpenDeploy works and would changing the configuration of files only work for me considering my requirement to do it with CSSDk or do i have to write some java code ?If so ,how do i go about it?

teamsite version : 6.5
OD : 6.2.1

Hi,

In the OpenDeploy pdf, it is mentioned that "OD Web service needs to communicate with the access service to authenticate the user by obtaining a CSContext object before contacting the OD Web service. The CSContext object needs to be passed as part of the input parameter for the OpenDeploy Web Service operation calls. " I can get this CSContext object through my CSSDK java code that i have written but where to pass it to ?
I am unable to understand the flow ...... Smiley Sad

nope...didn't do that...
i hv jus written java code for CSSDK , for which i hv to add more functionality to it for OpenDeploy to work with it.
m jus thinking how to do it since i m new at this, so dont know how to go about it Smiley Sad

Just to Understand correctly, You required to submit the files to staging while deploying them is that correct?

OD is just to meant to deploy the files from one server to one/multiple servers.

Deploying is designed through workflow process or at run using OD configuration script? how is that in Ur system?

Well, yes .... I have written CSSDK code to submit the files to staging ..
Now i jus need to deploy these submitted files to the staging server.....
but i hv to fix it in with the java CSSDK code somehow....

in the existing system, the files are being Open deployed thru config files , though i m still not aware how the complete process works, i just know abt the config files but dont know how OD would get triggered , i mean which CLT n stuff ?? please help for that .......n also then i dont know how to be able to trigger it from my java code ....

hey! i got the OD triggered from the CLT : iwodcmd..
so, atleast now i can see OD working from the command line ....

now i need to invoke this CLT somehow from my java code itself .....how to do that ??

Have you heard of google?
I just did a quick search and came up with this though there are countless other examples out there, I'm sure.

Alternatively, if you upgrade to 6.7.2 SP2 (+ P1) you can make use of the information in this thread
