Event Subsystem not getting started

Hi,

We are doing a fresh install of ts 6.7.1 on windows 2003 ,the install is succesfull except for event subsytem not getting started ,we are using microsoft SQL server 2005 as DB ,

i am attaching eventsubd_err and jmsconfignew.xml ,i came across an KB article "https://customers.autonomy.com/support/secure/docs/FAQ/Interwoven/54685.html" and i am following the exact process ,all the latest drivers are also in lib directory,we are using DAS so its must to have subsystem working,i am not able to pin pooint where the things are going wrong from my side

looking forward for some guidance from experts,

Is this only on startup ? Can you go to control panel -> services and start the ESS manually ?

try this command from a DOS shell on the TS server

telnet DBSERVER 1433

& post what happens

Hi,

Thanks for your reply,it gets started when i start it manually but the moment i do a refresh it shuts down again ,i ran the command as per your reply it shows the following ouput

"Connecting To DBSERVER...Could not open connection to the host, on port 1433: Connect failed"

so i suppose its a port issue?

My question was in case the DB was on the same server and ESS started before the DB.

Try the telnet command

Assuming DBSERVER was the valid hostname, then either yout system does not know about the DB server (ping DBSERVER), the port is blocked or the DB is not listening on 1433

Log on the DBSERVER and try the telnet command if you can

hi,

thanks for all ur guidance ,the port 1433 wasnt enabled in SQL server settings ,so i enabled it and the issue got solved ,closing the thread
