DCRs NOT opening in DCR window format but in text files

Hello All,

I have copied the branch from one teamsite server to another teamsite server.

Both are of same version.

Both have the same templates registered in templating.cfg

BUT the dcrs in new server are not opening in DCR format (Form Entry window) but in simple text files.

Pls help , Is there some diff method to copy so that the dcrs in target server open in DCR Window ??

If you check the properties of the DCR (From the web browser, not the filesystem) you should see TeamSite/Templating/DCR/Type: xxxxxx near the bottom. If not, then you need to associate them with the correct DCT.

iwextattr -s TeamSite/Templating/DCR/Type=****/yyy dcrName

See taalgaard's answer. How did you copy them in the first place? If you just use the OS filesystem to do the copy, you won't get these EAs that taalgaard mentions. If you're up to it, you could use the CSSDK to write your own file transport functionality that can copy files across TS servers. This can be handy if you're going to be copying files across servers a lot, like from a prod to a dev environment for testing or something. Just an idea based on some things I have done in the past.

In addition you could use recent versions of OpenDeploy (I believe 6.x) which provide for transferring EAs along with the files between servers.
Alternatively, you could migrate a branch on server-A to a temporary second store, transfer that to the other server and migrate it from there to the default store on server-B -- this would probably be overkill in most cases unless you really want the historical versions.
