WFM:Critical error in deploy task

Hi All,
We have a depoy task in one of our workfow. The iw-areaowner has been set as the owner for that task who has been assigned master permission in teamsite.The main reason for this is to avoid assigning opendeploy permission for all the users who are invoking the workflow.The workflow works fine, But sometimes it gets stuck at the deploy task.No logs are getting updated in teamsite. This issue is sporadic and does not happen all the time.When the services are restarted. It again works fine.We are totally confused what could be the fix for this issue.Its been a crictical issue in our PROD environment.

We are facing exactly the same error with exactly same conditions.

Only thing i discovered is, if we initiate any workflow(having deploy task) once using credentials of iw-areaowner, after that it works well for all the users. But this is not a solution.

Even we observed the above solution. but it would be difficult for the users to login to teamsite using different credentials , each time they invoke a workflow.

Sounds like the Java class running your deployment is not getting to the part where it triggers OD. I would suggest looking in iw-home/local/logs/iwui/servletd_out.log for error messages when this occurs.

But this issue is not seen always. Sometimes the workflow gets stuck at deploy task and sometimes it works fine. Even servletd_out is not updated.The deploy task will be in the active state and deployment status shows to be completed. This issue has become a night mare for us.

If the deploy task is active then there must be _something_ in the servletd_out log unless you've cranked the logging level too low. Try editing the log4j.xml in the UITK and setting your logging level to DEBUG. Then wait and check the servletd_out log when it happens again.

Even after setting the logging level to debug state, the logs were not updated.

What do you see in the OD logs when deploy task hangs (both on Sender and receiver end)? How many files/folder are getting deployed when the deployment is in hung mode?

The OD logs are not getting updated. The deploy task is not calling the deployment script. The problem is faced when one or more files are attached to workflow.
