Issues with Global Privilage of iweveryone ....
Ugan
TS version 672 on Solaris 9.
Hi ,
We recently migrated to 672 and have got some issues with access and permissions.
The new version has the teamsite based group as iweveryone which adds the entire teamsite users by default. But this particular group is addicting with editor role when the teamsite is started. Now since this group is having editor role and due to this all the users will mimic as editors (including authors). We have authors to whom some access to controls are restricted, now after upgrade all the authors have got Editors role and got the editor’s controls which is against to permissions provided to authors.
Example : GetLatest and Jobs link in workflow should not come to authors, but authors are having access to it.
We are facing lot of problems due to this global privilege; even if we remove the editor privilege from iweveryone still issue is there, when I add a user in a branch to act as a author role, he will still mimic as editor role due to the global setting of iweveryone.
Let me know if anyone had faced the issue with Global privilages.
Basically this removes the intention of adding users on role basis to teh branches. If i add a user as a author in XYZ branch, he mimics as a editor role since he is part of iweveryone which has a editor role and rules out the setting of author role to that XYZ branch.
Thanks,
Ugandhar.

At the branch level (/default/main/****) click on
Properties
and near the bottom of the screen you should see
Users and Roles:
Inherit from Parent
Try un-checking that box for all top-level sub-branches of /default/main and see if that fixes your problem.

Hi Adam - I tried that, but it still did not work, still it is inheriting the global permissions.
