Solaris and permissions
vahu
Hi,
Info: Solaris, TeamSite 5.5.2
We have a scenario where we have upto 30 branches. All the branches have one workarea 'default'. This workarea is owned by an iwadmin user and shared with a group. Now we thought that by placing the users with the respective branch access with the respective usergroup we could have TeamSite control the access within TeamSite. But it appears as if all the users can browse the branches and view stuff. The only thing that TeamSite does eliminate them from is creating NEW files etc. Does anyone have any suggestions or approaches to control this problem ?
Please let me know if further explanation is needed.
Regards
VaHu

You probably need to check in your TeamSite admin guide for the sections on Branch and Workarea security and probably Default Permissions.
I am guessing that you have granted (probably not intentionally) read access to everyone on your branches/workareas?
If you experiment with having permissions like 770 rather than 775 you might get what you are after.

In the TeamSite 5.5.2 Admin GUI, there are configuration options that control the default access permissions for all of the branches and workareas in your system. I can't remember what section of the GUI it is in, but you should be able to control things from there. You didn't mention what service pack level you are on, and I can't remember if this option was included with the initial release of 5.5.2 or has been added in subsequent service packs.

Check the permissions on the workarea. You'll have to make sure that it is 770
or 4770, it is up to you
