XalanTransform CLT Error

When I call the XalanTransform CLT, I get the following error:

"ld.so.1: XalanTransform: fatal: libxalan-c1_1.so: open failed: No such file or directory"

I have been unable to identify what is causing this. Calling this CLT on our test server is successful. Both files listed in the error message exist on both of the servers and have exactly the same permissions. The same DCR and XSL is being used on both servers. Workarea permissions are correct.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check your environment variables: LD_LIBRARY_PATH

It is set to the location that has the required shared library in Test but not in Prod

I checked LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable on both servers and they have the same value.

Is there anything else I can try?

You have to figure out why it cannot find this library:

libxalan-c1_1.so

Can you search for it ? Is that path in LD_LIBRARY_PATH ?

Also - verify that it is in the path for the user whose credentials are being used to actually execute the command - e.g.: If you're trying to run this CLT from within a script that gets called from a workflow or a FormsPublisher script (inline, callout, callServer) - you need to verify if the information exists within that script's environment, not just for you from a shell window.

I am checking root's LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH values.

I specifically added "/opt/iw/iw-home/lib" to LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH and that did not work. This makes some sense as this path is in neither variable on our test server and the CLT works fine there.

Is there another location for libxalan-c1_1.so ?

find / -name 'libxalan-c1_1.so*' -print

I actually ran: find / -type f -name "libxalan-c1_1.so" 2> /dev/null

and only found

/opt/iw/iw-home/lib/libxalan-c1_1.so

I also ran: find / -name "libxalan-c1_1.so" 2> /dev/null

and got the same result.

run this command on both

ls -l /opt/iw/iw-home/lib/libxalan-c1_1.so

Sometimes that is a symlink to another file.

Found the problem. The path "/opt/iw/iw-home/lib" wasn't in the config file /var/ld/ld.config. Ran the command "crle -u -l /opt/iw/iw-home/lib" which updates that config file and everything is working again.
