Using xsl:variable with $MODEL for .NET compoennt

Hi All,

I am trying to fetch the values from DCR and while creating .NET component using $MODEL token, how can I concat a string <DCRvalue>"_en-uk".

It would be great help as this is the only area stopping me to completion of my component.

Using <xsl:valule-of select="concat('This ','is ','new ','value')" /> will provide output as "This is new value". But concat is not working while creating .NET component using $MODEL token.

Below is snippet for the same:

<ucleftnav2:leftnav2 ID="leftnav21" runat="server" dcrpath="~/templatedata/Navigation/LeftNav/data/left-nav-only.xml" />

As per the above snippet "/templatedata/Navigation/LeftNav/data/left-nav-only.xml" is the DCR value and here I want to concat "~" so it should create the desired output.

I am currently using HTML type component with below snippet:

<ucleftnav2:leftnav2 ID="leftnav21" runat="server" dcrpath="~$MODEL{/Properties/Data/Datum[@ID='DCRPath']/DCR/record/DCRPath}" />

But I am unable to achieve appending "~" before DCR Value.

It would be great if you can provide some direction to do so.

Is it possible you are getting too much out of $MODEL?

I believe $MODEL will give you a fully qualified path where you want to insert the ~ somewhere in the middle. Try putting ~$MODEL{/Properties/Data/Datum[@ID='DCRPath']/DCR/record/DCRPath} into a variable then use substring-after(...) to get just the portion you want.

I used "~" in variable and resolves the issue, but my next question is how to use $MODEL in for-loop.

Is there a way to do so?

Hi Bowker,

As per the understanding from manuals, we can not use and xsl tags with .NET component as it has its own limitation. So in order to have mixed content i.e. .NET with XSL, it requires two separate components to build to suffice the requirement. Though I met with my requirments with understanding as mentioned before, so I am now closing this post here.
