TPL is generating error while previewing

1) How can I understand from this log, where is the problem ?

Starting lines are commands and keys for the file to be executed.

when I check utild_cmdout.log, I see following output

This second file does not say anything about what operation does it refer to. This log can be for someone else who has got error.
How to find what operation is this log for ? I can see, it does say some line numbers, where problems afre encountered.
Can someone please explain, how to debug this PT compile errors ? and find out where and what is the problem ?

The XML errors are from someone using a TPL to generate content. Something was incorrectly formed, be it a TPL or DCR. The performance data is of no help

Do you know which DCR/TPL causes the problem ? Start debugging

Yes, I know which TPL is causing errors.

But I dont see any problem. Is there a way I can go through TPL and find out how control is moving ?

How do I find, whats causing error, if I cant see on my own ?

Which log file will show, whats not running or causing error ?

There is no easy way. You need to run iwpt_compile from the command line and try to figure it out. TPLs are a pain to debug.

Post the very 1st line of your TPL, if you are using an XML TPL you do not need to. I expect that is the issue

This is TPL, container names and item names are changed, because they were too long.
Shall I put every HTML tag in CDATA ? Then there will be many CDATA sections.
Please suggest, I am trying on my own in the meanwhile.

That is a DCT not a TPL.

If you have an XML style TPL then you need CDATA. That is why I do not use the XML style.

If that is the actual PT - you have a compound syntax error at the end (the closing tag for the end-html element is after the closing tag of the following iw_pt element - which should be an end-iw_pt element instead of a beginning-iw_pt element as shown in your post).

Looking at the code you posted a bit more closely - you have similar issues with an h3 element (two open's no close) and above that you have an anchor tag specified as being an empty element but you follow it with a close-anchor tag (the open tag should not be specified as empty) and then the last anchor tag is a complete mess syntactically. There may be other issues but this is such a poorly written piece of code I'm not going to both diagnosing it any further.

As to your other question - If you use the iw_pt element as a container (as you sort of show) - then any code within that does not adhere strictly to XML standards will require being wrapped in CDATA tags. If you use an empty iw_pt element (or omit it altogether) you do not need to adhere to most of the strictness requirements and can usually get rid of 95-100% of the CDATA tags.

Best Practice on TPL creation.
To resolve mismatched tag error at TPL, try to open a TPL in IE, if you are able to see the entire content then TPL is fine or else check which tag is causing problem.

yes it's good idea you can convert it to .XML and preview it in IE

You can also try to see if your tpl can generate on other dcrs. If it can, then there might be something wrong with your dcr. But most likely in this case, it looks like you have missing tags.

Your problem and the solution to your problem is more than likely going to different than what solved niniti's issue.

You would be better off creating a new Post with details about your issue and attaching your TPL and DCT files.
