Instantiating the workflow from the ipl using iwmodelc

Hi,

I have to instantiate a workflow,from an ipl this is WFM workflow and i tried the following code:

But I am getting the following Error:


Error: Model portal prototyped workflow  is not allowed for the user system of role null for branch /default/main/USA/WORKAREA/tirrudev

Ca someone suggest How can I initiate a WFM workflow and the code that I used to instantiate is:

I got to solve it...the problem is


my $command = qq[$cmd -i "prototyped workflow " "$workarea"];

I have a space after prototyped workflow in the command...

But I have another issue here:

I am initiating the workflow..But the workflow is run as a SYSTEM user..But is there any way that I can run the workflow who ran the callserver...Because this workflow involves sending an email to the one who initiated the workflow if there are any deployment failures..

You could try using the iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi to pre-pend the name of your script (presumably located directly within IWHOME/httpd/iw-bin/)

But I lso have a question if i use the callserver to generate a page on save...
I used the following:
IWDatacapture.callServer("http://"+server+"/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/generate_page.ipl", params); But the html page shows as it is Modified by:the user who run the ipl..But for the workflow modeller WFM it runs as SYSTEM?I don't know the dfference..Both are same except running diffrent commands..cam some one suggest me where am I going wrong and the difference between the two?

iwmodelc just "talks" to WF Engine. It does not matter how you impersonate callServer Process (eg, what EUID Apache runs it under).
It will not affect WF Engine EUID - at all. What you probably can do is modify WF to send failure mail to certain SMTP Group(s) or
perhaps set dedicated WF "Mail_Failure_To" attribute on the fly and mail to this address, etc

I also have review tasks in my workflow...iF THE ANYONE GROUP REVIEW TASK rejects the workflow then it should send a mail to the on who initiated the workflow...i.e. who edited thr DCR and initiated the workflow..How can I get the one who edited the dcr on the fly in the workflow..Because my first task would be an usertask-->1.To send Files for review and 2.Abort job

If the workflow is run as OWNER then first task is usertask and send files for review if anyone rejects the file then it should come back to the user...How can I capture the user who edited the DCR..As the usertask owner is set as SYSTEM.

You can get user ID by IWDatacapture.getUser() and pass it as callServer parameter.

What I do not know is how to set WFM instantiation Item value programmatically (it's trivial in WFT - sigh...)
You can investigate that. Perhaps somebody with WFM experience can chime in as well.

As the usertask owner is set as SYSTEM.

You should set usertask owner as $IW_USER. That will pick the current user who has initiated the workflow.

Do you want to initiate a workflow from DCT or some where else?

yes,I want to start the workflow after I click a button It has to through validations and start an workflow from an ipl..For which i used callserver program...

Here what I am doing is:

1.Create a job spec file using iwmodelc -d option and then using that job spec file I have changed system to the user variable.

But if there are two users working simultaneously will there be any issue..Because the same is getting overwritten..

Can someone suggest is this the correct way to go?

Chances are you'll be better off switching to Java and initiating the workflow through CSSDK - however, if you can get the Perl code to work you just need a reasonably unique id for the temporary files (I didn't bother to read through all your code but you might be able to

use File::Temp qw(tempfile);
