Does the event subsystem get installed as a service like previous versions? I did a fresh install and the it looks like the event subsystem did not get installed. Anyone else seen this and is there a resolution?

I also can't get to the Admin Console and the link to create a new component isn't there nor is the SiteMap tab

yes it does, I am looking at my 7.1 on Win 2003 (control panel -> services) and it is there.

Does not seem like your install went right.

At least SP was not installed, did it ask you ? Do you have a SP license ?

Hmm, yeah that's what i figured about the install... ugh. I'll see if I can maually install it, have you tried that?

No license for SP. The documentation did say TeamSite would function for 48 hours without a license. I thought I might get lucky with SP.

Certainly not with SP, it will nto even install it w/o a license.

How many times did you run the installer ? I ran it 3 or 4 times, each time it decided there was something else to install.

The correct license key did the trick.

For me, I only had to run the install once to see all the packages that were available, but not everything was installed on the first round. So the installer was run more than once.
